Growing up I used to hear it all the time.
“Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”.
Or some variation of this saying.
“Doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, it’s the inside that counts”
On the personal front, I agree with both these statements.
Professionally when I became a digital marketer, I had to abandon this Aesop Fable-like moral.
The judgey behavior slowly crept in (sorry mom).
Because…these statements can’t be further from the truth when it comes to creating killer landing pages for your lead magnets.
The landing page is the cover and your lead magnet the book.
Your cold traffic (peeps who don’t know you at all) will take 10 seconds to make a decision whether to opt-in or hit ‘X’ on their screens.
You want to make those 10 seconds worthy of their time.
